This is helpful and inspiring! I sadly don’t have an outdoor faucet like you do, however I’m willing to try a solar-powered irrigation system that pulls water from a water bucket and see how that works out😅 I’m going away for 1 week in July so I’ll be so pleased if that works out for me!🤞🏼

Great job, it was the bees knees. We have a small front garden with three flowerbeds, 52 containers of perennials and 6 pots of annuals on the two windowsills. My wife has no interest in gardening and tells me it looks like a mini garden centre. I water the containers and flowerbeds with a watering can in the evenings and I find it very calming. At the moment the weather in Ireland has been 70-75 most days for the last 10 days. I water the pots twice a week and the flowerbeds once a week they get a deep watering. We are both retired and I know as time goes on I will have to get drip irrigation.

At one point, I was even thinking of getting the tubing that has the holes in it and just laying it in the ground and you don’t have to put emitters, but I don’t know how that really works. I know a lot of gardeners use that for their vegetable beds.

I had to do the same thing and increase the size of the tubing, I went to Home Depot and bought tubing and I didn’t like those little emitters so I got the bubblers or umbrella emitters which you can regulate by turning the knob on the top.

Thank you so much for mentioning the size of the terracotta pots. It's true, sizing can be deceptive on camera...I was sure it was a 17" pot, lol! Great to know one can plant these compact shrubs. I just planted a PW Sweetspire 'Little Henry' at my boss' garden. I can't wait for autumn to see the leaves change!

I'd move the one in the middle way off to the corner right & leave the other two where they are. Absolutely love terracotta pots. Ive been collecting them for years. Ive even been known to drag them out of other peoples garbage. I'm a shameless gardener! lol

Some Weigelas bloom again later in the summer. Blooms in spring on old wood so don’t prune in early spring. If you need to, prune right after first bloom.

Been really struggling with my dual chamber composter tumbler. Its my first time composting and theres a lot of differing opinions on how to do it 😅 Its easy, Its hard, Tumble twice a week, tumble every day. Etc etc After months of my pile not decomposing right (at a 50/50 brown to green) I’ve given up on being precise. Just guesstimating and adding water here and there. Hoping something happens 😂 Thanks for the vid 🙏

Used to visit CBG, they used to charge only for parking, but not for actual admission. Would take the Metra line to the Braeside station for a manageable walk along Lake Cook Road to the garden. Now they charge for admission in addition to parking.

I am seed strating vinca/ periwinkles this afternoon, a perennial where I live. It enjoys full hot sun. And has prolific flowers all throughout the year.

Aw, it's going to be a lovely white garden. Especially in moonlight! I am obsessed with that Campfire Bidens! It's so pretty. I have the "Lemonappeal vine, I didn't even realize there was a white one. I planted one last year on my balcony, and the hummingbirds loved it. This year I also planted "Bunny Tail" ornamental grass. The flowers are these super soft little white puffs. They are gorgeous. If you ever want to plant something like that, it would fit in nicely in your white garden. I planted mine in a pot along with some petunias and malvas, and calendula. and the bunnies look so sweet. I can't wait to see all your upcoming tours and updates. I feel like everything, everywhere is growing fast!

In a month the flower cart is going to be glorious! It's so fun trying some new plants every year. Disappointed I couldn't find Angel Wings this year. What a beautiful plant.

Budworms are why I gave up on petunias years ago and shifted to Million Bells. They are smaller flowers but many beautiful colors and don’t require deadheading!
